I am a self-taught product manager. I am eternally curious and always enjoy learning new things. Having graduated from a tier-I college in India, I have previous gigs working as a back-end developer and a data scientist, so I am pretty comfortable with the technical side of things. My dream is to deliver a chartbuster game.
My love for gaming
I have a personal passion for gaming and all things consumer electronics.
Personally speaking, I grew up with cheap rip-offs of fourth-generation gaming consoles that only played second-generation games like Donkey kong, Super Mario Bros, Contra, Adventure Island (circa 2003–2010) because those were the only things I could afford.
So the special days when I got my report card called for a day at gaming centers, where I would spend the five bucks very carefully, so it would last me the whole day. But the adrenaline rush I got in those dark, shady smoke-filled gaming dens through Tekken 3, Street Fighter, and Sonic made me question if these things are even legal.
So growing up, I aspired to get my hands on a game boy or PS-IIs, which of course, never came true. But I now realize it’s not the consoles I was in love with but the game, the stories told, the adrenaline rush, the user experience. I want to deliver the same thing as a PM to the millions or at least to that one mini-me whose only source of happiness was games.
This Blog
This blog is just my nautical rutter to help me sail through this massive sea called gaming domain. I hope this will help anyone interested enough to go through it. Hey, please let me know if anything drives away from factuality since I am still learning.
Good fit
if you are hiring — Compensation is not my primary goal, but a good fit with the team is. I would be a good fit, especially working in an organization that shares the following qualities.
- Can ideate the problems to be solved clearly, concisely.
- Believe in teamwork and open communication flow across teams.
- Comfortable with arguments from different perspectives supported by facts.
- Believe in constant learning.
- Okay, with not only giving me continuous feedback but also getting one.
- Patient enough, breaking every problem down to the basics and questioning the fundamentals. (even if it’s time-consuming.)
- Trust people with their assigned work and don’t micromanage.
Even if you are simply interested in my perspective or friendly consultation, please drop me a message.
